8x10 colored pencil. Had a lot of problems with this one. It's okay but I'm not ecstatic about it. The color in the background is particularly uneven because I made a poor attempt at texture and then had to cover it all up to try to get rid of it (don't ask--it involved a true blue color stick and a metal cheese grater--actually not a bad idea but not for this piece). Also struggled with the dark side of the yellow pepper. I'd like to have a go at that section again.

Susan, I think this is lovely and don't see all the flaws you mention. You achieved beautiful shading and highlights.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christiane. Took another photo this morning and this one looks a tad better, more real-to-life. I'm happier with it this morning.
ReplyDeleteSusan I think you're too hard on self. I think the way you did the peppers is wonderful. My favorite still is the plate.
ReplyDeleteSusan, you created a lovely, vibrant piece of art. I was just admiring the dark side of the yellow pepper not to mention the lovely shadow work on the plate.
ReplyDeleteOMG I think this is wonderfully done. You are so hard on yourself, beautiful!
